Mainly a Restaurant placeAbout AS Bryggestuen - Bryggeloftet:
Traditional Norwegian fish & meat dishes, including reindeer, in a historic space with harbor views.
Good cuisine, the dish and meat should be warmer. And medium well is 100% well done in this restaurant, order medium instead. Service can be improved. Hinted for a table and gave us another because we don’t have a reservation. During all the time we were there, that table was not filled
Every part of this experience was five star. We were very fortunate to get a table as a walk-in. Completely gracious staff, everyone of them. But don’t risk missing the experience, book ahead! We had the scallops and smoked whale meat as appetizers. Reindeer and lamb for main course. Everything was well cooked, exactly how we asked for it. Nice portion size, lots of sides and generous cocktail sizes. Best we had in Norway. We will for sure return! Thank you all!
It's an incredibly busy spot with both the main and second floor almost completely booked out, so you likely will have to wait if you're just walking in. We tried two small appetizers, and especially liked the traditional fish soup. The smoke whale was interesting too. Would recommend coming during non-peak hours.
The fish soup and baked mussels were great! The deer steak was well cooked but I think the smell of the game was too strong for me. The service was a bit slow due to high number of guests and low number of waiters. Be careful to book in advance before coming.
A very well-known restaurant located in Bergen, Norway. It is situated in the historic Bryggen area, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The restaurant has a rich history, dating back to 1910, and offers a cozy and traditional Norwegian dining experience. The menu features a variety of local dishes, including fresh seafood, game, and other regional specialties. Bryggeloftet & Stuene is known for its high-quality ingredients and excellent service. The interior is warm and inviting, with a rustic decor that reflects its heritage. It is a popular spot for both locals and tourists looking to enjoy authentic Norwegian cuisine in a historic setting.
After a dinner on the fish market at the evening day before, we decided to find something more comfortable and so landed at Bryggeloftet. It was very nice evening where we tried a variety of different local dishes - all of them very tasty so the next day we have skipped the search for something different and returned for the lunch. This time we have decided to go for special lunch menu and it was even better. Especially the fish soup was absolutely top!!
The food was amazing. It was my first time having the deer steak and I enjoyed it. It did taste the same as mutton still it's an experience. Everything went from the service to the food and the one star reduced for atmosphere is just that, the hotel was kind of empty. Sorry guys, I hope you guys can fill up the whole place soon and please do share the image. The staff were all good and polite. Thank you. So enjoy the dish and have fun guys
This restaurant had traditional Norwegian food and was crowded with local people. Also was on two floors with old-fashioned decorations and sea view. The appetizers, especially the fish soup that l recommended by the restaurant on the menu were great. About the main dishes l, We tried deer steak and fried-skin trout, which both of them were tasty and professional but they could have been cooked a little more. The food presentation was very beautiful. Also, the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were friendly. However, I didn’t enjoy the taste of the desserts very much because the chocolate cake was excessively dense. I had a memorable experience there, so would recommend this restaurant to anyone reading my comment and looking for a good dining experience.
